Char Hope (CHF) empowers recovery through faith, life skills, and abstinence, igniting an unstoppable new way of life.

Our Rooting Recovery Program
Designed by the Char Hope Foundation, this unique social care farming approach combines the National Ag Literacy Outcomes with the renowned 12 Steps of addiction recovery. Rooting Recovery participants engage in hands-on learning opportunities including homesteading, commodity marketing, gardening, equine therapy, and exposure to general farm life. Agriculturally based healing with direct lessons on our social care farm and homestead creates a safe space for authentic, impactful, personal discovery. Our residents have the opportunity to learn through vulnerability, self-reliance, trust, and personal development.

Our Commitment to Recovery

"The Battle Continues"

The CHF misson was built on a vision of redemption, rooted in faith, life skills, abstinence, and the unyielding strength of those in recovery. We believe the future of every person battling addiction depends on raising a generation that NEVER SURRENDERS to stigma or substance.

Our Mission

Char Hope's mission is providing sober living opportunities, life skills, financial aid, supervised agricultural learning experiences, and community outreach to help educate the public about addiction awareness. The Char Hope Foundation helps adults move forward toward a full recovery, a healthier lifestyle and a life free from addiction.

Our Vision

Founded in October of 2015, the Char Hope Foundation is focused on being the first recovery support group within the agricultural community in Maryland.  We are dedicated to helping adults, who are facing the challenges of substance abuse, to move toward a long term recovery, while learning life skills, and creating a family like community to give added support.

Shepherd's Harvest Dinner & Auction
This is a fundraiser dinner for Char Hope Foundation Inc., an inspiring organization dedicated to providing sober living, financial aid, agricultural learning experiences, and community outreach for those in recovery from addiction.
The "Shepherd" title evokes powerful imagery of guidance, protection, and restoration—perfectly aligning with Char Hope's 99 mission of leading lost individuals toward hope and healing, much like a shepherd guides their flock through challenges.

The funds raised are for covering the cost of expanding sober living program.

Journey to Recovery

Fund A Need

Char Hope needs your help protecting our livestock!

This year’s Fund A Need is all about shelters and safety:

• 2 new Run-in Sheds ($6k each)

• Shed repairs ($3,500)

• Critical new fencing ($16k)

• Adding Heat and Ac to Education Room ($5,500)

Total goal: $37,000

These projects are to keep our animals safe at both the Ladies’ and Men’s houses.

Will you help us build shelter and security for them? Every dollar counts!
