Rooting Recovery was designed by Char Hope Foundation of Pylesville Maryland. This unique social care farming approach combines the National Ag Literacy Outcomes with the renowned 12 steps of addiction recovery. Rooting Recovery participants engage in hands-on learning opportunities including homesteading, commodity marketing, gardening, equine therapy, and exposure to general farm life.
Agricultural based healing with direct lessons on our social care farm creates a safe space for authentic personal discovery to learn through vulnerability, self-reliance, trust, and personal discovery. Rooting Recovery works because it requires those in treatment to inventory themselves daily, to stretch their self-reliance to new levels, and to face the trauma that past life experiences have caused through real-life experience. For too long addiction and recovery have been taboo in our communities. Rooting Recovery lifts the stigma by fully engaging with our communities, local farmers, therapists, and therapeutic staff while learning skills that will serve those while in recovery and in the great life that awaits beyond treatment.
The Foundation serves as a platform for support through our network of recovery professionals we have a volunteer standing by to help try to guide you to the right professional to help with your needs.
